Porcelain Vases




A Large Gustafsberg Porcelain Polychrome and Stencil-Gilt Vase, late 19th c., puce ground, reserved with a Swedish genre scene of children collecting firewood, base inscribed "Gustafsberg 1887", height 20 7/8 in., width 13 3/4 in. 


A French Gilt and Polychrome Porcelain Urn, in the style of Jacob Petit, green ground, scalloped rim, masque handles, reserves of flowers and birds, rectangular plinth base on paw feet, height 14 1/2 in., width 8 3/4 in., depth 6 1/4 in.







A Sévres-Style Porcelain Garniture, comprising a bronze-mounted platter with reserve of a couple and two urns (lacking lids) with figural reserves, both with blue céleste ground, gilt highlights and floral decoration, platter length 11 in., urn height 8 in. 



A Pair of Sèvres-Style Porcelain and Bisque Corbeilles, apple green ground with gilt decoration, navette form reticulated bowl on a pair of cherub supports, ovoid plinth base on paw feet, bearing spurious Sevres marks, height 11 3/4 in., width 12 in., depth 7 1/2 in. 



A Three-Piece Derby Polychrome and Gilt-Decorated Porcelain Garniture, c. 1825, marked in puce with the standard Derby mark, comprising a large central urn and a pair of conforming smaller urns, the front of each exuberantly decorated with different floral bouquets, scroll handles with satyr mask pendants, height 11 3/8 in. and 8 7/8 in. respectively.










A Fine Pair of Meissen Porcelain Armorial Lidded Urns, early 19th c., marked with underglaze blue crossed swords, stepped drum form bodies with entwined serpent handles and domed lids, finely painted with reserves of royal armorials with conjoined "AR" monogram, the lids with portrait medallions of a king and queen, each monogrammed "ERC" or "AERC" en verso, held by embracing swans, the reverses of the bodies reserved with trophies of hunting in elaborate gilt cartouches, the mid-section with finely painted hunt scenes, on socle plinth bases molded with trophies of hunting, height 23 1/2 in.
Note: The joining of the Polish and Saxon shields of arms depicted on the present lot likely commemorates the unification of these two Houses through the 1693 marriage of Frederick Augustus I and Christiane Eberhardine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. The portrait medallions above strongly resemble known portraits of the royal couple.




A Pair of Paris Porcelain Polychrome and Gilt-Decorated Garniture Vases, mid-19th c., reserved with floral cartouches on an apple green ground with gilt highlights, foliate scroll arms, height 15 1/2 in.
Provenance: Ex-collection Pebble Hill Plantation and Museum, Thomasville, GA.




 A Pair of Schneeballen-Style Urns, spurious marks, floral-encrusted gourd-form with branch handles issuing pompom blossoms and birds, height 16 in. Note: old restorations. 




 A Pair of Austrian Art Nouveau Porcelain Covered Vases, marked Rudolstadt, finely decorated with encrusted and burnished gilt peacock feathers on a cobalt blue ground, height 13 3/4 in. 


A Pair of Jacob Petit Paris Porcelain Vases, mid-19th c., marked "J.P." in blue, teal blue and cafe au lait ground, reserved with floral bouquets in gilt cartouches, foliate scroll handles, height 16 3/4 in. 


A Pair of Paris Porcelain Garniture Vases, mid-19th c., bleu de roi ground with burnished gilt decoration of Gothic arches, height 9 in. 


A Monumental Continental Floral-Decorated Faience Bottle Vase, signed "V." en verso, attractively painted with an elaborate floral bouquet, height 28 in. 


A Pair of Paris Porcelain Vases, late 19th c., baluster form with magenta ground reserved with oval scenic panels within foliate gilt cartouche, now mounted as lamps, overall height 26 3/4 in. 


Two Continental Faience Bulb Pots, in the form of bombé commodes, each height 5 in., width 9 in., depth 4 1/2 in. 



Five Antique French Majolica Artichoke and Asparagus Plates and an Asparagus Cradle, two of the artichoke plates marked "Luneville", various decorations, plate diameter from 9 to 10 in., asparagus server height 2 1/4 in., length 13 in., width 8 1/4 in., (6 pcs.)

Ten Royal Copenhagen "Flora Danica" Porcelain Coffee Cups and Saucers, No. 3597, dated 1969-1974, the round cups with branch handles, the circular saucers with dentil borders, with botanical paintings of various flowers, the bases with Royal Copenhagen logos, underglaze blue wave marks, pattern no. 20, shape no. 3597 and initials, en suite with the preceding lot, diameter 5 1/2 in. 
Ten Royal Copenhagen "Flora Danica" Porcelain Chocolate Cups and Saucers, No. 3513, dated 1961-1974, the cann-form bodies with angular handles, the saucers with dentil borders, with botanical paintings of various flowers, the bases with Royal Copenhagen logos, underglaze blue wave marks, pattern no. 20, shape no. 3513 and initials, diameter 5 1/2 in. 



A Royal Copenhagen "Flora Danica" Porcelain Monteith/Ice Basin, No. 3531, dated 1969-1974, the oval body with notched rim and strap handles, decorated on the interior with a botanical painting of Pyrola rotundifolia L. and on the exterior with sixteen botanical paintings, the base with a green Royal Copenhagen logo, underglaze blue wave mark, pattern no. 20, shape no. 3531 and initials, length 13 in. 




A Paris Porcelain Partial Dinner Service, mid-19th c., lobed cafe au lait borders, reserved with various polychrome floral bouquets, gilt banding and highlights, comprising 5 dinner plates, 6 luncheon plates, 8 dessert plates, 3 oval graduated platters, a round lidded tureen, an open sauceboat with undertray and an oval sweetmeat dish, (25 pcs.). 




A Set of Twelve Decorative Vienna-Style Gilt and Cobalt Blue Enamel Decorated Cabinet Plates, bearing spurious beehive marks, with elaborate foliate swag decoration, diameter 10 3/4 in. 



A Fine Paris Gilt and Polychrome Porcelain Coffee and Tea Service, early-to-mid 19th c., marked with impressed initials (L z) and ciphers (D.1), the large pieces painted with vignettes of domestic, barnyard and exotic animals, comprising 2 teapots, 1 coffeepot, 1 covered sugar, 1 creamer, large waste bowl, 12 dessert plates, 11 coffee cups, 12 demitasse cups, and 23 saucers, (64 pcs.) 


A Set of Three Antique French Barbotine Fruit Plates, the larger one modeled with pears, the smaller pair with lemons and oranges, colorfully glazed, diameter 12 1/2 in. and 10 3/4 in. respectively. $300/500




 A Pair of Continental Porcelain Fruit Coolers, each in three parts, polychrome enamel and transfer floral decoration with gilt and cobalt banding, height 9 in., width 9 3/4 in. 


 A Limoges Porcelain Game Service, late 19th c., including an oval platter and 11 plates each with differing hand-painted and transfer-decorated scenes of game, yellow floral-decorated rims, platter 12 in. x 19 1/2 in., plate diameter 9 1/4 in. 


A Limoges Porcelain Gilt and Transfer-Decorated Punchbowl, having elaborate floral and leaf decorated well, the exterior having a celadon green ground reserved with three round family genre scenes within foliate gilt cartouches, marked "TV Limoges France" in green and "Imperial" on base, height 6 1/2 in., diameter 15 1/2 in.
